The stamp was issued to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the National Firefighters institution. It depicts an image of "Cuartel Centenario" (Centenario Station) which opened on the 18th July, 1930, and was declared national historical monument in 2002. Those who died serving others while firefighting were payed homage. During its 125 years: 400.000 rescue operations have been carried out, more than 730.000 fires have been fought and more than a million of interventions have been performed. In this period 35 firefighters lost their lives. Also the American Firefighters' Organization was recognized by our country as a international non-profit organization. This enabled the exchange among, and training of, firefighters from the Americas.  

Se emite el sello en el marco de la conmemoración del 125 Aniversario de la institución.  Se ve representado el “Cuartel Centenario” inaugurado el 18 de julio de 1930 y declarado monumento histórico nacional en 2002; se homenajeo a aquellos quienes han ofrendado sus vidas en el cumplimiento del deber de su profesión. Destacándose que en los 125 años de vida se han realizado 400.000 rescates, se han enfrentado más de 730.000 incendios y se efectuaron más de un millón de intervenciones. En este período, 35 bomberos perdieron sus vidas. También se reconoce por parte de nuestro país a la Organización de Bomberos Americanos como organismo internacional sin fines de lucro y con personería jurídica. Esto posibilita un intercambio y capacitación de los funcionarios de Bomberos a nivel americano.
