Uruguay, is the country that won the most American Cups in the South American Cup Championship. A total of 15 times and is followed by Argentina who won 14 times. It also won the Olympic Games twice: 1924 and 1928; two World Cups: 1930 and 1950 and in 1980 "El Mundialito" (World Champions' Gold Cup). In the South Africa World Cup it obtained the fourth place, and Diego Forlán was awarded the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player.

The stamp is an homage to the Uruguayan team who won the American Cup in 2011, in addition, it was awarded with the Fair play Trophy, best young player (Sebastián Coates) and tournament's best player (Luis Suárez)

Uruguay, es el país que más veces ha ganado la Copa América con 15 conquistas, seguido de Argentina con 14.  Ganó dos ediciones de los juegos olímpicos: 1924 y 1928; dos mundiales: 1930 y 1950 y el Mundialito de 1980. En el Mundial de Sudáfrica 2010 salió 4º y Diego Forlán fue galardonado con el Balón de oro, como el mejor jugador del torneo.  

El sello homenajea la victoria en la Copa América 2011, donde nuestra selección obtuvo además otras distinciones: premio al fair play, mejor jugador joven (Sebastián Coates) y mejor jugador del torneo (Luis Suárez).
